The Midwest Children's Choir Festival will be held at 7 p.m. on April 26 in Stephens Auditorium in Ames.
The festival is sponsored by the Ames Children's Choirs and will feature Weston Noble and three choirs performing separately: Britten and Capriccio of the Madison Youth Choirs (WI) and the Concert Choir of the Ames Children's Choirs. More than 300 select singers from across the state of Iowa will join the featured choirs to form the Festival Mass Choir, totaling 400 singers.
Music for the Mass Choir will feature the premiere of Allen Koepke's "Dream It" commissioned by the Ames Children's Choirs.
Local students from Ames Elementary Schools, Ballard East Elementary School, Boone Elementary and Middle Schools, Gilbert Middle School, North Polk Elementary Schools and United Community School will be among those performing.
