The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce has added additional seats for the Oct. 21-30 "Experience China" trip because of the overwhelming response. The registration deadline has been extended to April 30.
"We are thrilled at the outpouring of interest for this trip," said Lynn Olberding, vice president. "We are excited to have the opportunity to share this cultural experience with so many from the Marshalltown area."
There were originally 80 seats available for the trip, however an additional 50 have been added. To date, 83 travelers have registered for the trip.
The cost is $2,399 per person (double occupancy) which includes roundtrip airfare from Seattle, Washington to Beijing, China as well as the return trip, airfare and ground transportation within China, all lodging and meals. Travelers will visit the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, Ming Tombs, Tiger Hill, Lingering Garden, among other tourist sites. Travelers will also have a chance to visit the Emerson Fisher factory and technology center in Wuqing, China.
"Travelers will see seven of China's top ten tourist attractions and have an opportunity to see and experience the Chinese culture," Olberding said.
