The Central Iowa Art Association announces a beginner's watercolor class. The class will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and will begin April 24 and will meet weekly until May 29 each week.
Cost is $60, plus a minimal cost for supplies the student would like to take home with them. The class will focus on basic watercolor techniques and is probably not suited for someone who has had a great deal of watercolor training.
Basic techniques will include: wash, dry on dry, wet on dry, and wet on we, also how to paint with perspective, and definition. Attention will be paid to flowers, fields (landscapes views) and feathered friends (butterflies and flowers.)
Instructor is Bonnie Harmon, a long time watercolor artist and teacher for the Central Iowa Art Association. Please register by calling the Central Iowa Art Association at 641-753-9013 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students will need to bring a small package of tissue, a small sponge (with large holes) and a piece of flannel or cotton cloth about 8 inches by 12 inches.
