Monday

Lance R. Walker, Denver, Colo., made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge and a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the theft-fifth degree charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 due within 30 days of today's date. Restitution may be requested. The fine on the public intoxication was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Omar Colunga-Silva, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 10. Colunga-Silva was released on his own recognizance.

Jeremy Tuttle, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a obstruction of emergency communication charge and a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 10. Tuttle was released with supervision through the adult probation office. He was to sign a promise to appear before leaving the jail and report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release form. The court ordered that if he possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to make arrangements within 24 hours with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Justin Hartwig, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a parole violation charge. The court appointed Laura Sopher to represent him in these matters before the court. On the possession of drug paraphernalia charge he pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on May 21 in Magistrate Court. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by his parole officer as his calendar permits. No bond was allowed in the parole violation charge. Should it be settled before the pre-trial conference and then Hartwig may be released on his own recognizance for the possession charge.

Victor Moreno Lopez, 710 S. 12th St. Apt. #8, made an initial appearance on a no valid driver's license charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $200 with a $70 surcharge and a $60 in court costs for a total of $330 due within 30 days of today's date.

Margarito Martinez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due within 30 days of today's date.

Eric Lasley, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a warrant for failure to appear for a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty on the driving under suspension charge and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due within 30 days of today's date.

Incidents

On Sunday, Santos Villagomez, 206 E. Ingledue St., reported the theft of an iPad from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $400.

On Saturday, Richard Cartee, 308 S. 12th Ave. Place, reported the theft of 27 brown retaining wall rocks from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $100.

On Friday, a citizen reported for the City of Marshalltown two juveniles kicking in the door of the men's restroom at the Kiwanis Park facility, 2206 S. 3rd Ave. Estimated value of damage was $200.

On April 10, an associate of Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the theft of an HP desktop computer and an HP printer. Estimated value of loss was $577.

Accidents

On Friday, a vehicle driven by Isiah Jonathan Avalos, 1406 W. Main St., was backing out of a driveway in the 500 block of North Third Street when the driver's foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas pedal causing it to reverse quickly and collide with a legally parked car across the street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Avalos vehicle was estimated at $2,500 while the legally parked car received an estimated $6,500 in damage.

On Friday, a car driven by Iang Tha Bor, 312 N. 2nd Ave., was northbound on North Ninth Street stopped at the intersection with West State Street when it entered the intersection colliding with a vehicle driven by Samuel David Welton, of Haverhill. No injuries were reported. Bor was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign. Damage to the Bor car was estimated at $1,000 while the Welton vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On Thursday, a semi driven by Laura Lee Whitten, of Oskaloosa, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Marion Street and North Third Avenue when it failed to see that the way was clear and pulled out onto Third Avenue colliding with a pickup driven by Stephanie Ann Swanson, 2517 Reyclif Dr., which was traveling north on Third Avenue. Swanson was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Whitten was cited for unsafe starting of a stopped vehicle. Damage to the Whitten semi was estimated at $4,000 while the Swanson pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Wednesday, a car driven by Richard Eugene King, 205 N. 4th Ave., was into a left turn from the Frontage Road onto West Southridge Road at the precise moment a vehicle driven by Maria Estella Raya, 510 N. 2nd Ave., was coming eastbound from crossing South Center Street and the two collided. No injuries were reported. Raya was cited for failure to have a valid driver's license. Damage to the King car was estimated at $600 while the Raya vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call at 311 S. 2nd St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2907 S. 6th St., 1800 E. Anson St., 316 N. 16th St., and 513 N. 2nd St.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call at 1077 Marshalltown Boulevard, and 106 W. Webster St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2907 S. 6th St., 512 S. 6th St., 1408 S. 1st St., 108 W. Nevada St., 101 Iowa Ave., 1 W. Grant St., and 1703 Edgebrook Dr.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two fire calls to 511 E. Church St., and 310 S. 4th St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 304 Melody Lane, 505 May St., 2802 S. Center St., 810 Warren St., 805 N. 5th Ave., 2802 S. Center St., and 3202 S. 12th St.
