Casey Brandt, of Newton, made an initial appearance on a speeding charge and a use or possession of drugs charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 14. Brandt was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Jean Elizabeth Wood, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3 p.m. on May 1. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Daniel LeRoy Campbell, Homeless, made an initial appearance on a forgery charge, a theft-third degree charge, a possession of marijuana-enhanced charge and a unlawful possession of a prescription drug-Alprazolam and Zolpidem Tartrate charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 6. Bond is set at $7,000 total cash only. Should Campbell secure release he is to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of release.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Jimena E. Agripino, 216 Glenda Dr. Apt. #4, reported the theft of a 14k gold necklace and bracelet. Estimated value of loss was $1,900.

On Wednesday, an employee with Designz By Dawn, 35 W. State St., reported the theft of cash. Estimated value of loss was $1,400.

On Tuesday, Margaret Charleen Schultz, 112 N. 1st St. Apt. #4, reported the theft of a Pioneer CD Super Tuner and two cases of CDs from a 1999 Ford Contour while parked at her residence. Estimated value of loss was $459.98.

On Tuesday, an employee at Marla's Headliner on Main, 118 W. Main St., reported the purchase of clothing with a bad check in the amount of $117.

On April 18, Renee Osgood, 308 S. 12th Ave. Place, reported the theft of a 1974 Harley-Davidson Fatboy motorcycle and a 1998 Ford F150 pickup from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $7,000.

Citations

On Wednesday, Jason David Halfpop, 1112 E. Anson St., was cited for criminal mischief-fifth degree.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Daniel LeRoy Campbell, Homeless, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-enhanced, unlawful possession of a prescription drug-Alprazolam and Zolpidem Tartrate, forgery and theft-third degree.

On Tuesday, Jesse Allen Moravec, 915 Stegman Boulevard, was arrested for obstruction of emergency communications and serious domestic assault.

On Tuesday, Michael Trazeek Robinson, Homeless, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a minivan driven by David Allan Bullock, 704 W. Linn St., was exiting a private driveway at 104 Sharon Ave., when it collided with a car driven by Sierra Ann Fricke, 406 Sharon Ave., which was traveling southbound on Sharon Avenue. No injuries were reported. Bullock was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.
