Van Dyk wins, Trojans fall to D-NH

TAMA - South Tama County's Paige Van Dyk continued her winning ways Monday when she took home medalist honors again during a dual with Dike-New Hartford.

Van Dyk shot a 40 to beat Dike-New Hartford's Bri Weber by four strokes, but the Wolverines won the team battle, 186-204.

Five Dike-New Hartford golfers shot better than 50 on the day. Emma Henze and Maddi Brummond both fired 47s and the other counting score came from both Ashley Dumler and Nikk Weisenfluh, who each shot 48.

Coming in behind Van Dyk for South Tama was Carrie Cibula, who shot a 45. The other two counting scores were Laurel Schamweber's 54 and Erin Clayton's 65.

The Trojans next play in the Newton Invitational at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
