A successful Marshalltown High School alum is returning to help fund renovations for the Marshalltown High School Roundhouse.

Rick "The Gladiator" Glenn of Milwaukee will return to his hometown and be a special guest at the Roundhouse Renovation 5K/10K & Kids Fun Run at the Marshalltown High School track May 11.

Glenn is a mixed martial arts fighter living and training in Milwaukee. He sports a 13-2-1 record in the 145-pound (featherweight) weight class. He has a 11-match winning streak and is fresh off a victory over previously undefeated Alexandre "Pulga" Pimentel in Atlantic City, March 23.

Glenn will be signing autographs and giving a positive message to youth about striving to be one's best.

Glenn's manager, Shaun White of Whiteout Productions, Marshalltown, is helping coordinate the fundraiser.

"Dr. Ken Hayes of MHS has been a big help in addition to the Marshalltown Health Career Club," said White. "We've signed on a number of local business, including the Sports Page, to make this a successful fundraiser for the Roundhouse. And Rick wanted to help out - it is his way of giving back."
