John Muller, address unknown, made an initial appearance through counsel, Barry Kaplan, on a falsely claiming emergency on 911 charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on May 21 in Magistrate Court.

Muller was released on his own recognizance.

Patrick Bracy, 607 Lee St., made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge and a driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 20. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Jasmine Davenport, of Tama, made an initial appearance on two warrants for failure to appear for a jury trial and failure to appear for a probation revocation initial appearance. Marshon Dubbert will continue representation on these charges. A pre-trial conference is set for 1:30 p.m. on May 3 with a jury trial date set for 9 a.m. on May 9. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3:30 p.m. on May 20. Bond is set for a total $7,000 cash only on both warrants.

Keaton Douglas Thorn, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a felony assault causing bodily injury charge and a serious domestic assault charge. The public defenders office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 10. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The court ordered that if he possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to make arrangements with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to surrender them. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 31 until the debt is paid.

April Brubaker, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a ongoing criminal conduct charge, a prohibited acts charge and a possession of meth-first offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 10. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only. The court ordered that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of her release.

Rachelle Mann, 116 N. Center St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a ongoing criminal conduct charge and a theft-second degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 20. Mann was released through the adult probation office and is to report within 24 hours to sign a pre-trial release form.

Accidents

On April 26, a car driven by Cara Jo Loewen, of Hubbard, was eastbound on Summit Road near the intersection with Oaks Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Loewen car was estimated at $3,500.

On April 26, a car driven by Dustin Lee Eash, of Altoona, was southbound on Marsh Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the road. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Eash car was estimated at $4,000.

On April 25, a vehicle driven by Susan Marie Bond, 203 1/2 N. 5th St., was northbound on Zeller Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bond vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

Marshalltown Fire Department

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 101 W. Iowa Ave., a search for a lost person at 106 E. South St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 2907 S. 6th St., and 105 S. 5th St.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire in a structure other than a building at 408 N. Center St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 805 W. Linn St., 207 W. Linn St., 300 W. Boone St., 1108 Iowa Ave. West, 407 Meadow Lane, 401 E. F St., and 413 N. 15th St.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 515 N. 2nd St., and six medical assists to: 2907 S. 6th St., 2510 S. 6th St., 1308 E. Madison St., 101 Iowa Ave. West, 713 S. 12th St., and 12 N. 16th St.
