PARKERSBURG - The Bobcat boys' soccer team had no trouble with Aplington-Parkersburg on Monday, winning 11-1.
Ellis Buchwald recorded a hat trick and Mi Reh, David Gomez and Martin Chavarria each scored twice as the Class 3A No. 11 Bobcats improved to 11-0 on the season.
"It was an OK game for our squad as we were able to get many players into the game that usually don't play that much," MHS boys coach Creighton Jenness said.
Reh put in the first goal with just 2:37 gone in the match and the Bobcats never looked back in an easy win.
Reh and Buchwald both scored twice in the opening half, while the other first-half goal came from Austin Lovin.
Gomez started off the second-half scoring with a tally in the opening four minutes and then Chavarria put one in two minutes later.
After A-P's lone goal, the Bobcats finished with goals by Buchwald, Blair Van Staalduine, Gomez and Chavarria.
Gomez also had two assists as did Oswaldo Rodriguez and Alex Diaz. The other assists came from Victor Cisneros, Agustin Tellez, Reh and Buchwald.
Kreighton Miller spent the first 15 minutes in goal for the Bobcats but an injury forced him out of the match. Eli Devine stepped into the net and earned the win.
The Bobcats will put their undefeated record on the line tonight when they travel to Urbandale and face the J-Hawks at 7:30 p.m.
