DENVER - Running into a whirlwind of tough competition, the East Marshall girls track team placed eighth out of 12 squads at the Cyclone Invitational Monday.
Host Denver won with 84 points, while Dike-New Hartford (72) and South Hardin (65) rounded out the top three. Grundy Center finished ninth (45.5), while BCLUW (36), AGWSR (14.5) and Gladbrook-Reinbeck (no score) completed the field.
Haley Fye provide the Mustangs' lone victory claiming the 400 hurdles in 1 minute, 11.48 seconds. Paige Miller took second in the 3,000 (11:34.75), while the shuttle hurdle relay foursome of Katie Roseland, Meriel Leavy, Callie Roseland and Madisen Hinegardner brought home bronze in 1:17.04.
