Michael Hoffpauir, of Marshalltown, made an initial appearance through counsel, Barry Kaplan, on a possession of a schedule II controlled substance charge and a harboring a runaway charge. The preliminary hearing was waived. Hoffpauir was released with supervision through the department of correctional services.

Ken Logsdon, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a contempt review hearing. The court appointed Jennifer Meyer to represent him in this case. The contempt review hearing is rescheduled for 3 p.m. May 13. Bond is set at $1,700 cash only.

Willis Davis, 205 W. Nevada St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a failure to obey a traffic control device charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the failure to obey a traffic control device is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All charges are due within 30 days of today's date.

Tabitha Marilyn Tate, 314 N. 14th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. She pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and was fined $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87, due within 30 days of today's date. On the driving under suspension charge she pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 18.

Ron William Metivier Jr., address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. the preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 28. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Amanda Leigh Kaiser, 306 Melody Lane Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on a attempted burglary-third degree-aiding and abetting charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. May 24. Kaiser was released on her own recognizance.

Jesse James David Otta, of Laurel, made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. June 4.

Shane Lee Charlton, 911 Jackson St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a interference with official acts charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. June 4. The court appointed Merrill Swartz to represent him in these matters before the court.

Gavin Slifer, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge and a public intoxication charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. June 4.

Tony Vodochodsky, 911 Jackson St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge, a disorderly conduct charge and a interference with official acts charge. The court appointed Norma Meade to present him in these cases. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. June 4.

Jerod Stewart Frost, of Albion, made an initial appearance through counsel, Ted Hoglan, on a serious assault charge. The preliminary hearing was waived.

Denver Arthur Pfrommer, 710 S. 12th St. Apt. #5, made an initial appearance on a false imprisonment charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. May 24. Pfrommer was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Incidents

On Monday, Mark Blaine Harsha, 2005 W. State St., reported the theft of a 19-inch TV and a Coby DVD player from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

On Monday, an employee with K-Mart, 1720 S. Center St., reported the theft of two baby boy outfits, two bottles of Lipodrene, a bottle of Dexmxc 7 and two bottles of TWL Amino 60 valued at $136.63.

Arrests

On Monday, Sondra Ragen Alas, 1501 Summit St., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Monday, Lance Mandell Walker, address unknown, was arrested for public intoxication.
