Loretta Lubbert, 86, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Westbrook Acres, in Gladbrook. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at Peace United Church of Christ, in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Gladbrook Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes, in Gladbrook. Interment will be at Crystal cemetery, in rural Gladbrook. Loretta was born Feb. 5, 1927, to Otto and Minnie (Prehn) Toensfeldt in Gladbrook. She attended the rural Gladbrook schools. Loretta was united in marriage to Earl Lubbert on July 18, 1945, in Gladbrook. He died Oct. 31, 1976. Loretta was a homemaker. She also delivered papers for the Times Republican for many years. Loretta was a member of Peace United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for 32 years and was involved in evening guild. Loretta enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball fan.
Lorretta will missed by six daughters: Janice (Larry) Smith, of Traer, Dorothy (Jim Memmer) Blocker, of Marshalltown, Mary Millard, of Gladbrook, Linda (Ed) Mills, of Marshalltown, Diane (Dean Lench) Lubbert, of Dysart, and Sandy (Bill) Babinat, of Traer; two sons: Don (Nancy) Lubbert, of Gladbrook, and Larry (Valerie) Lubbert, of Marshalltown; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Kolleman, of Glendale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; a daughter, Donna Badger; a granddaughter, Melisa Babinat; and two brothers, Eldon and Don Toensfeldt.
