Accidents

On May 9, a car driven by Alyssa Rashe Wenner, 303 N. First St., was attempting to turn left from East Anson Street onto South Third Avenue when it collided with a motorcycle driven by Michael Thomas Lyttle, of Nevada, traveling west through the intersection. Lyttle was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Wenner was cited for driving while license is denied, cancelled, suspended or revoked and failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to the Wenner car was estimated at $2,000 while the Lyttle motorcycle received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Sandra Alas Wanatee, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a bond revocation. Chad Frese, previously appointed, will continue representation. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 7 and a jury trial is set for 9 a.m. June 13. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Hopkins is released with supervision and is to go to the adult probation office within 24 hours to sign a pre-trial release form. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date. It was further ordered that Hopkins be photographed and fingerprinted on these charges by the end of work today.

Kate Leslie Tremmel, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. June 10. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Vincent P. Cronbaugh, 306 Bromley St. Apt. #12, made an initial appearance on two contempt warrants for failure to complete batterer's education program. The court appointed Jennifer Meyer to represent him in these matters before the court. The contempt hearing is rescheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 7. Cronbaugh was released on his own recognizance.

Zachary David Saxton, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana-first offense charge and a simple assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. June 3. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date. Saxton was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Thomas Steele, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing. The sentencing hearing was rescheduled for 11:30 a.m. June 10. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Ivan Rodriguez-Jimenez, 212 Pleasantview Road, made an initial appearance on a warrant for failure to appear at an initial hearing for a contempt charge for failure to complete a batterer's education program. Cedano D. Thomas, 515 N. Center St., made an initial appearance on a serious assault charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. May 21. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Detria Gully, 403 E. Southridge Road Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due within 30 days of today's date.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call to 303 S. Fourth Ave. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 7 N. 17th St. and South Third Avenue.

May 10

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a rescue call to South Third Avenue and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 504 N. Fourth St., 205 N. Fifth St., 212 W. Ingledue St., 3120 S. Second St., 106 Anson Circle, 1606 W. Lincolnway, 208 S. 8th St. and 402 N. 10th Ave.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1703 Edgebrook Drive, 200 S. Center St. and 206 Nicholas Drive.
