Beverly Bernice Cumberlidge, 87, of Marshalltown, died on May 21, 2013, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Beverly's family will be holding a private memorial service for Beverly at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed in Beverly's name to her family. Beverly Bernice Cumberlidge was born on June 12, 1925, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Moses "Moe" and Miriam (Solowitz) Bauer. Beverly was raised and educated in the Newark, N.J., area graduating from High School in Newark. After high school she went on to college graduating from Penn State University and later received her Master's degree from New York University.
Beverly was united in marriage to Thomas R. Cumberlidge on Nov. 13, 1971, in Bay Shore, N.Y. They lived there until 1979 when visiting the Florida Keys decided this is where they wanted to make a permanent home. Beverly was a dietitian for close to 50 years and most recently worked in the library in Florida for 10 years. Beverly had a true passion for her family, attending plays, gardening, cooking, she was an avid reader and enjoyed the beach, swimming, boating and all Florida style activities. Beverly loved her family and will be greatly missed by many.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters: Joyce (Kim) Kenner, of Marshalltown, and Mimi Cohane, of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren: Diana (Jason) Smith, of Raleigh, N.C., and Brian (Amber) Kenner, of Marshalltown; great- grandchildren: Ethan Kenner and Alexandria Smith; one brother: Arnold (Johanna) Bauer, of Roseland N.J.; two nieces: Nancy (Monty) Hagan, of Denville, N.J., and Lisa Danenberg of Livingston, N.J.; Beverly's Aunt: Claire Goldberg, of New York, City; also several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Thomas and her parents.
