Emily Proffitt, 208 1/2 E. Church St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 12. Proffitt was released on her own recognizance.

Larry Lester Kunc Jr., 6 S. Ninth St., made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 12. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. The court ordered that if Kunc owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Mario Murillo-Mora, 105 Byron St., made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning June 21 until the debt is paid.

Rodney Paul Shogren, 811 N. Fifth Ave., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. July 9 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Merrill Swartz to represent in this case. Shogren was released on his own recognizance.

Kwand Aysaan Woods, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a aggravated domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 3. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. The court ordered that if Woods possessed or owned any firearms or ammunition he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Brian John Berkey, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a pre-trial violation charge. The public defender's office was continue appointment. Berkey was released through Teen Challenge of the Midlands in Colfax.

Dana Monique Morrison, 211 S. Third St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge and a contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 3. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Timothy Ebersole, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-sentencing investigation. Jeffrey Hazen will continue representing Ebersole. The sentencing hearing is set for 10 a.m. June 17. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.

On May 23, Clayton Kenneth Jensen, 207 Rainbow Drive, reported damage to a latch on a west garage window at his residence. Estimated value of damage was $200.

On May 23, Sabir Martin Mamor, 211 N. Third Ave. Apt. #3, was arrested for aggravated domestic assault.

Accidents

On Sunday, May 12, a car driven by Joan F. Karaganis, of Ankeny, was at the intersection of the Highway 330 northbound turnoff and Marshalltown Boulevard when it attempted to turn right and collided with a car driven by Jaimee Jo Norem, of Randall, which was westbound on Marshalltown Boulevard. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

On Friday, May 3, a single-unit truck driven by David Edward Pansegrau, of Tama, was eastbound on 295th Street when it went out of control due to the high winds and snow/slush covered roadway and entered the south ditch where it rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pansegrau truck was estimated at $6,000.

On Thursday, May 23, a pickup driven by Anthony Eugene Dixon, of Lincoln, was southbound on Taylor Avenue when, due to bad brakes, it went through the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 96 and collided with a minivan driven by Patricia Jo Fuchs, of Eldora, which was traveling east on Highway 96. Dixon and Fuchs were both transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with minor injuries. Dixon was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and driving while license is suspended. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

On Monday, May 20, Lyle Edward Eldridge, of State Center, reported the theft of a Ford F150 pickup from 1370 285th St., State Center. Estimated value of loss was $1,500.

On Sunday, May 19, Austin Grae Kingrey, of Gilman, reported the theft of a Sony PlayStation3 games system and controller from a 1992 Chevy Camaro while parked in Le Grand. Estimated value of loss was $350.

On Friday, May 17, Gregory Gene Lafever, of Tama, reported the theft of four wheels with 17 inch rims for a BMW from a location in Albion. Estimated value of loss was $900.

On Wednesday, May 15, Bret William Veren, of Clemons, reported damage to a window at his residence and the theft of a gold pendant necklace and gold watch. Estimated value of loss was $320.

On Tuesday, May 21, Joshua Steven Nelson, 705 W. Iowa Ave. #134, was arrested for failure to comply with the sex offender registry regulations.

On Sunday, May 19, Bethany Leigh Brant, 407 May St., was arrested for illegal bail enforcement.

On Saturday, May 18, Jesus Angel Estrada, 108 1/2 S. Third St., was arrested for contempt of court.

On Friday, May 17, Darin Christian Lewis, of Buckingham, was arrested for failure to appear-contempt.

On Thursday, May 16, Bradley Wayne Sparrow, 206 Nicholas Drive, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On Thursday, May 16, Raymond Gene Shogren, 206 N. 13th Ave., was arrested for possession of controlled substance and interference with official acts.

On Wednesday, May 22, Ryan Wade Purdy, 2328A Zeller Ave., was arrested on a warrant to forfeit a cash bond.

On Tuesday, May 21, Kristine Lee Hoag, of Tama, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

On Wednesday, May 15, Jay Duane Bosma, of Le Grand, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-third offense, open container-driver, failure to prove security against liability and striking fixtures.
