"We are pleased to recognize the outstanding academic record that this young woman has achieved. Her accomplishments as a student and as a member of our community make her truly deserving of an Emerson National Scholarship," Meyer said.
Wignall is the daughter of Tim Wignall, Fisher FIRST2 development manager, of Marshalltown. She plans to attend the University of Iowa and study pharmacy.
Grade point average, class rank and national test scores along with school activities and community involvement are considered in the selection of the scholarship winners. The Emerson National Scholarship covers four years of study, contingent on the academic performance of the recipient.
