Grundy County Sheriff's Office

Arrests

On May 17, Alex Deike, age 22, of Wellsburg, was arrested at the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on a Bremer County warrant for probation violation. He was released to Bremer County authorities.

On May 13, Demetrius Stanberry, age 33, of Cedar Falls, was arrested at his home for domestic assault abuse.

On May 10, Marquis Stephens, age 24, of Waverly, was arrested by the Waverly Police Department on a Grundy County warrant charging him with contempt of court. He posted bond and was released.

On May 8, David Habenicht, age 43, of Cedar Falls, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with violation of a protection order and phone harassment-third degree. He posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On May 12, a vehicle driven by James Spear, age 60, of Reinbeck, was exiting a private driveway when it collided with a legally parked car in the 500 block of Broad Street owned by Daniel Bowser, of Reinbeck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Spear vehicle was estimated $1,000 while the Bowser car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On May 12, a car driven by Esther Blythe, age 82, of Wellsburg, was turning left onto McAdoo Street in Wellsburg when it collided with a vehicle driven by Jean Kolthoff, age 57, of Wellsburg, which was turning from McAdoo Street onto South Monroe Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Blythe car was estimated at $2,000 while the Kolthoff vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On May 10, a vehicle driven by Judith Carnes, age 55, of Beaman, was attempting to park when her foot accidently pressed the gas pedal instead of the brakes causing the vehicle to jump the curb and strike a pillar in front of the library in Conrad. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Carnes vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On May 6, a vehicle driven by William Damon, age 18, of Grundy Center, was traveling on P Avenue when the driver became distracted by a passenger, drove off the traveled portion of the road and rolled onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damon was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Damon vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On May 2, a car driven by Anthony Fritz, age 26, of Holland, was westbound on 160th Street at Dike when it went out of control on the snow and slush covered road, entered the south ditch, struck a pole building and a John Deere planter inside the building. Fritz was cited for driving while license is barred and driving while license is suspended. Damage to the Fritz car was estimated at $5,000.

Incidents

On Sunday, Julianne Ellis Paustian, 614 W. State St., reported the theft of a Canon camera and headphones from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $600.

On Sunday, Ronald Jean Hays, 211 S. Ninth St. Apt. B, reported the theft of a Garmin GPS system from a 2007 Dodge Caravan. Estimated value of loss was $100.

On May 25, Rolland Nauman, 1001 W. State St., reported the theft of a Winchester 12 pump firearm, a Savage 24 over and under firearm and a set of 15 commemorative Disney watches from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $4,100.

On May 25, Rebecca Sue Collins, 1407 W. State St., reported the theft of an Easton baseball bag containing baseball equipment and a Wilson baseball glove from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $260.

On May 24, Eric Hernandez, 410 N. First Ave., reported the theft of four 26 inch blade rims some with the Mercedes symbol from a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria while parked at his residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,000.

On May 24, an employee with Kenn's Transmission, 306 E. Anson St., reported damage to two locking hubcaps and the theft of four Goodyear tires and four aluminum wheels. Estimated value of loss was $2,500.

On May 23, Emily Johnson, 2620 Ridge Rd., reported the theft of a Schwinn bicycle from 411 W. Linn St. Estimated value of loss was $200.

On May 20, an employee at Casey's on East Main Street, 916 E. Main St., reported the theft of lottery tickets and winnings in the amount of $301.

Citations

On Monday, Frank Anthony Danner, 1106 S. First Ave., was cited for public intoxication.

On May 20, Miguel Ornelas Jr., 107 S. 13th St., was cited for dog at large.

Arrest

On Monday, Kisha Amundson, 702 1/2 W. Main St. Apt. B, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Monday, Martin Jamell, 1106 S. First Ave., was arrested for public intoxication and criminal mischief-second degree.

On Monday, Jordan Alley, 1206 Fairway Dr., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Monday, Jaime Oliveros Alcantar, 703 Ratcliffe Dr., was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Sunday, Lance Steven Hazen, 106 1/2 W. Church St., was arrested for possession of alcohol under legal age limit and social host.

On Sunday, Scott Edward Mills, 106 1/2 W. Church St., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol under legal age limit and social host.
