John Loren Rule, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing, Iowa. Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Warren Township Cemetery, in McCallsburg.
John was born to George "Kenner" and Ellen "Louise" (Bohnsack) Rule on October 12,1927 in LaMoille, Iowa. He attended the Rural Heartland School near LaMoille, Iowa; McCallsburg School, McCallsburg, Iowa; and LaMoille High School, LaMoille, Iowa; where he graduated in 1948.
After graduation he worked for several State Center, Iowa farmers and later worked at Lenox Manufacturing of Marshalltown, Iowa retiring from there in 1983. After his retirement he lived in State Center for several years until going to live at the Marshall County Home in rural Marshall County. The County Home was closed in October, 1997. He then relocated to Country Living Care Center, of Rural Toledo, Iowa. He lived there until February, 15, 2008. He then moved to Colonial Manor, now known as Zearing Health Care Center, in Zearing where he remained until his passing.
Loren never married. He is survived by his sister, Rachel Ann Rhodes of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Richard (Mary Beth) Rule of Westminster, Colorado, and Lyman Kenner (Lois Ann) Rule of Zearing, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Proceeding him in death are his parents; two sisters, Mary Helen Risdal and Virginia Meimann.
Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing, Iowa has been entrusted with the care of John and his family.
