Richard W. "Dick" Drew 85, of Marshalltown, died Friday, May 31, 2013. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the Main Street Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Richard was born in Marshalltown on April 29, 1928, to Alfonso William and Geneva Drew. He was united in marriage to Edna J. Wilson on Oct. 20, 1946. He worked for Fisher Governor Company of Marshalltown for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also an excellent wood worker and craftsman. He made many projects by hand including the family home. Above all else he loved spending time with his family.

Richard will be missed by his wife, Edna Drew; his son, Richard Y. (Marvis) Drew; his daughters: Beth (Bill) Schmidt, all of Marshalltown, and K. Lorine (Roy) Davis, of Clemons; his grandchildren: Jennifer (Robb) Boggs, Bob (Kim) Drew, Amy (Jeff) Drummer, Dave (Rachel) Schmidt, Kenny (Karen) Davis, Brian (Sherri) Davis, Julie (Terri) Saunders and Eric Davis; several great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law: Sue (Fred) Gould, of Marshalltown, and Ester Drew, of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; his siblings: Lucille Meling, Mildred Moore, Charles Drew, Glen Drew and Berdeen Drew; great-grandson, Brant Saunders, and nephew, Clifford Meling.
