Marshalltown police arrested a local man Friday for allegedly having sexual contact with an 8-year-old.

Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department, said the parents called police alleging that Bryan Brown, 23, of Marshalltown, had engaged in inappropriate contact with their child.

Brown came in for questioning the same day, and police subsequently arrested him, charging him with lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony, Hanken said.
