Accidents

On Sunday, a minivan driven by Osbaldo Jimenez-Martinez, 511 N. 13th Ave., was northbound on North 12th Avenue when it went out of control and struck a legally parked vehicle. No injuries were reported. Jimenez-Martinez was cite for operating while intoxicated. Damage to the Jimenez-Martinez minivan was estimated at $6,000 while the legally parked vehicle received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

On Saturday, a minivan driven by Irma Luis Ambrosio, 307 E. Boone St., was westbound on State Street stopped at the intersection with Center Street and a vehicle driven by James Matthew Lundberg, 202 Harmony Drive, was southbound on Center Street stopped at the intersection with State Street when they both entered the intersection at the same time and collided. The Ambrosio minivan then left the scene without giving information. No injuries were reported. Ambrosio was cited for leaving the scene of an accident-damage to vehicle, failure to have a valid driver's license and no insurance. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

On Saturday, a car driven by Jeffrey Alan Gaddis, of Clive, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gaddis car was estimated at $2,500.

On Friday, a car driven by Amy Jo Schmidt, 114 S. 11th St., was exiting the driveway when it collided with a legally parked vehicle in the 100 block of South 11th Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Schmidt car was estimated at $1,500 while the legally parked vehicle received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

On Friday, a car driven by Jonathan Howell, 206 N. 14th St., was turning southbound from Grant Street onto North First Street when it collided with a legally parked minivan. No injuries were reported. Howell was cited for failure to have a valid driver's license. Damage to the Howell car was estimated at $3,000 while the legally parked minivan received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On May 30, a car driven by Nathan Wayne Cuellar, 6 Cherry St., was exiting the parking lot in the 2400 block of South Second Street when it collided with a minivan driven by Edwin Lynn Spence, 310 Wauconda Road, which was southbound on Second Street. No injuries were reported. Cuellar was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Cuellar car was estimated at $2,500 while the Spence minivan received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

On May 29, a pickup driven by Douglas Marten Hagele, 2602 Reed Ave., was southbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Gregory Allen Cross, of Des Moines, which was stopped at the intersection with Iowa Avenue. No injuries were reported. Hagele was cited for failure to obey a traffic control and open container 21 and over. Damage to the Hagele pickup was estimated at $3,500 while the Cross vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On May 22, an unknown driver in a Chevy Blazer went through the stop sign at the intersection of West Church Street and South Ninth Street and collided with a vehicle driven by Mary Ann Billman, of State Center which was traveling north on Ninth Street and then left the scene. Billman was possibly injured. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000.

Incidents

On Sunday, Belen Rios, 709 NewCastle Road, reported hit-and-run damage to the driver's side paneling on a Buick Electra and damage to the front and passenger side bumper on a Buick Century both while parked at 500 N. Third St. Estimated value of damage to the Buicks was estimated at $1,500 and $2,500, respectively.

On Sunday, Ashish Singh, 2510 S. Sixth St. Apt. D27, reported the theft of a wallet and contents. Estimated value of loss was $600.

Arrests

On Monday, Barbra Edel, 2501 S. Second St. Apt. #4, was arrested for serious domestic assault.

On Monday, Salud Castillo, 316 N. 11th Ave., was arrested for shoplifting and on a sex offender verification violation.

On Monday, Anthony James Shearer, 501 S. Second St., was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

May 29

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call to 1002 S. Third Ave.

May 30

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call to 1002 S. Third Ave., a medical assist with the EMS crew to 1312 Summit St. and four calls to: 218 Pleasantview Road, 204 N. Second St., 200 S. 12th Ave. and 3000 E. Main St.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call to 514 N. Second St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 212 N. Ninth St., 1202 E. State St., 401 E. Ferner St., 3202 S. 12th St., 102 W. Main St. and 913 S. Sixth Ave.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 207 Westwood Drive, two calls - 101 NewCastle Road, 102 W. Anson St. and on 12th Avenue.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call to 402 N. 10th Ave. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2005 Wardview Road, 1710 S. Fourth St. and 304 W. South St.
