Ben and Megan Gonzalez, of State Center, are the parents of a daughter, Makayla Ariana Gonzalez, born at 9:15 a.m. on May 22 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches in length. Welcoming Makayla home are big brothers Ben and Jon. Grandparents are: Mark and Shelly Appelgate, of Marshalltown, and Duane and Diane Roum, of Haverhill.

Larry Robert Prusha, 910 N. Fifth Ave., made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $160 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $320, due within 30 days of today's date.

Manuel Castillo, 701 E. Anson St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Bryan Allen Brown, 1003 Jackson St., made an initial appearance on a lascivious acts with a child charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 10. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Incidents

On Sunday, Lynette Kay McMartin, of Green Mountain, reported damage to the ignition on a 2011 Dodge Ram truck while parked at her residence in what appeared to be an attempted vehicle theft. Estimated value of damage was $25,000.

On pMay 29, Ian Jay Brockway, of Le Grand, reported damage to a driver's side window on a 1997 Lincoln Town Car while parked in Le Grand. Estimated value of damage was $150.

Arrests

On Monday, Salud Castillo, 316 N. 11th Ave., was arrested for sex offender registry violation, theft-fifth degree and violation of pre-trial release.

On Sunday, Ronald William Metivier Jr., of State Center, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving while barred charge.

On June 1, Cody William Moore, 1114 W. Church St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated-third offense.

On June 1, David Alan Bailey, 501 1/2 N. Center St., was arrested for three counts of harassment-second degree, criminal mischief-fifth degree, failure to appear and probation violation.

Arrests

On May 31, Amanda Nielson, age 30, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center for operating while intoxicated-first offense. She was released on promise to appear.

On May 31, Blake Huffman, age 19, of Cedar Falls, was arrested by Marshalltown Police Department on a Grundy County warrant charging him with sex abuse-third degree, assault with intent to commit sex abuse and five counts of sex abuse-second degree. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On May 29, Michael Moore, age 24, of Gladbrook, was arrested at the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on a Tama County warrant charging him with domestic abuse assault. He was released to Tama County authorities.

On May 25, Nicole Lybarger, age 43, of Sheffield, was arrested by Butler County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with contempt of court. She was released on promise to appear.

Accidents

On May 25, a car driven by Shirley Jones, age 56, of Reinbeck, was exiting a parking spot in a parking lot in Reinbeck when it collided with a car driven by Timothy Miltenberger, age 48, of Reinbeck, which was entering the lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jones car was estimated at $1,000 while the Miltenberger car received an estimated $800 in damage.

On May 19, a vehicle driven by Mason Syhlman, age 21, of Dike, was eastbound on 160th Street east of T-47 when it went out of control, entered the north ditch and rolled before coming to rest on its side. No injuries were reported. Syhlman was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Syhlman vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

On Sunday, Tyler Welsh, 206 Palmer St., reported the theft of a skateboard while at 811 S. Sixth St. Estimated value of loss was $175.

Citations

On Tuesday, LaShawn D. Scates, 9 E. Grant St. Apt. #2, was cited for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Jessie James Harmon III, 302 S. Second Ave. Apt. #2, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana.

On Tuesday, Christopher James Proffitt, 208 1/2 E. Church St., was arrested for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, Kevin Douglas Young, 9 E. Grant St. Apt. #1, was arrested for gatherings where controlled substance unlawfully used and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-meth-enhanced.
