Anthony James Shearer, 501 S. Second St., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. An initial appearance hearing is set for 9 a.m. June 14 in Polk County to set further proceedings. Shearer was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Cindy Eggers, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of conditions on a deferred judgment probation charge. She will hire her own attorney. The probation revocation hearing is set for 10:15 a.m. July 10. Eggers was ordered held without bond.

Sean Drew Williams, 11 W. Grant St., made an initial appearance on a serious assault charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to represent Williams on the serious assault charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 21. On the violation of the no-contact order, Merrill Swartz will continue representation. The contempt hearing is set for 3:30 p.m. June 24. Bond was set at $1,000 per charge cash or surety for a total of $2,000. The court ordered that if Williams owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, he is to make arrangements with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. He pleaded guilty to the theft-fifth degree charge and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 plus restitution of applicable. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 9 until the debt is paid. The public defender's office will continue representation of the violation of pre-trial release. A jury trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 9. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Melissa Renee Boyette, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. July 16 in Magistrate Court.

The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 18. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that Rodriguez be photographed and fingerprinted on this charge. Roberto Oliveroroman, of Ottumwa, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge, a false imprisonment charge and three counts of a child endangerment charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 28. Oliveroroman was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to them within 72 hours.
