STILLWATER, Okla. - The University of Iowa women's basketball program announced that assistant coach Shannon Gage is leaving her post with the Hawkeyes for a similar one with Oklahoma State.
Gage is a Tulsa, Okla., native who has served on the Iowa staff since 2007. She was the Hawkeyes' director of basketball operations from 2003-05.
"I want to thank Shannon for her work over the past several years and wish her the best in the future," said Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder. "She has been an important member of our staff, and I appreciate her service to our program."
Oklahoma State announced Gage's hiring on its website.
"Shannon brings a wealth of experience to our program," OSU coach Jim Littell said. "She is an outstanding recruiter and is well connected to coaches across the country. We are excited to add her to our staff as a recruiting coordinator.
"She relates very well to young people and will be a positive role model and mentor for the young ladies on our team."
Prior to joining the staff at Iowa, Gage served as an assistant from 2005-07 at Michigan. She graduated in 1999 from Southwest Missouri State, where she was a part of three NCAA tournament qualifiers.
