Christian Brandon Mason, 207 N. 13th St., made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The scheduling hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 24 in District Court for the purpose of scheduling a probation revocation hearing. Bond is set at $5,000 cash. If the bond is posted Mason is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services.

Julio Cesar Garcia, 401 S. Third St., made an initial appearance on a public consumption charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days of today's date.

Anthony James Shearer, 501 S. Second St., made an initial appearance on four counts of a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The contempt hearing is set for 9 a.m. July 2. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Gustavo Alonso Diaz Jr., 106 W. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a failure to obey a stop sign charge, a no insurance charge, a driving under suspension charge and a damage to vehicle charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the failure to obey a stop sign and damage to vehicle charges the fine is $100 each with a $35 surcharge and court costs for each. The fine on the no insurance and driving under suspension charges is $250 each with an $87.50 surcharge and court costs on each.

Ronald Henderson, 504 N. Seventh Ave., made an initial appearance on three counts of a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to deliver charge, three counts of a tax stamp violation charge, a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with the intent to deliver charge, a prohibited acts charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 28.

Edward Coronado Martinez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50.

Dillon Robert Schultz, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a burglary-second degree charge, a theft-second degree charge and a conspiracy charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 8. Schultz was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report within 24 hours.

Daniel Thomas Warnell, 1807 W. Main St., made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation-second or subsequent offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 25. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Tammy Reynolds Lawson, 807 S. Third Ave., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. A contempt hearing is set for 9 a.m. June 28. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Stephen L. Schossow, 707 S. Seventh Ave., made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge, a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge and a conspiracy after the fact charge. The next court date is set for 1 p.m. June 25. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. Bond on the theft-fourth degree and conspiracy charges was set at $1,000 cash or surety. The bond on the possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge was set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Jesus Charicata, 109 1/2 N. First St., made an initial appearance on a public consumption charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Juan Raul Velez, 108 N. Third Ave. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge and a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 9. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Incidents

On June 7, Terry Ray Gray, of Le Grand, reported the theft of miscellaneous tools and a John Deere lawnmower. Estimated value of loss was $1,100.

Arrests

On June 14, Anthony James Shearer, 501 N. Second St., was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

On June 14, Tyson Brian Bear, of Tama, was arrested for two counts of violation of pre-trial release.

On June 7, Verne Victor Rethmeier, of New Providence, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense and open container.

On June 7, Terry Ray Gray, of Le Grand, was arrested for drunkenness.

Accidents

On June 17, a vehicle driven by Judy Ann Peterson, of Beaman, was southbound on Abbott Avenue during foggy conditions when it entered a bridge which had collapsed crashing into the other side and continuing a short distance before coming to a complete stop. Peterson was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Damage to the Peterson vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

On June 16, a motorcycle driven by Ryan Marcel Hurst, of Bondurant, was headed northeast on Summit Road toward Marshalltown on the curves in the road when it exited the roadway and rolled into the south ditch. Hurst was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with upper body injuries. Hurst was cited for no driver's license and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Hurst motorcycle was estimated at $1,500.

On June 14, a car driven by Joshua Allen Corson, of Liscomb, was westbound on Marble Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Corson car was estimated at $3,000.

On June 11, a vehicle driven by Starla Pauline Amendt, of Le Grand, was eastbound on Highway 30 near the intersection of Coppock Park Road and 240th Street when it struck a deer that entered that road causing heavy front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Amendt vehicle was estimated at $5,500.

Marshalltown Fire Department

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call to 2206 Maple Blvd., and 1406 W. Church St., a fire call to 101 New Castle Road, a rescue at 1800 Sanford Ave. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 408 N. First St., 210 N. Eighth Ave., 211 W. Church St., 107 1/2 W. Grant St. and 101 NewCastle Road.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call to 1108 Iowa Ave. West and on 235th Street.
