More than tripling its win total from a year ago, the Marshalltown girls soccer team had nine members recognized on the All Central Iowa Conference Northern Division squad.
Senior Megan Major highlighted one of three first team honorees while also attaining all-Central Iowa Conference second-team selection.
Major recorded four goals and three assists, joining juniors Lexi Vaughn and Taylor Vaudt on the all-CIC Northern Division first team. Vaughn tallied a team-best 16 points with six goals and four assists, while Vaudt chipped in a pair of assists.
Sophomore Molly Major, freshman Ellyn Boland and junior goalkeeper Amanda Hughes made the North Division second team, while juniors Morgan Gardalen, Lindsey Ricken and Brittany Waldron all earned honorable mention.
Coming off a 3-15 campaign in 2012, the Bobcats finished 10-8 and were one win from a state tournament berth, losing to eventual state champion Ankeny in a Class 3A Regional final. Marshalltown returns 16 players including all but one starter from their season finale lineup.
