Gary Lee Wagner, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Monday July 1, 2013, at Villa del Sol Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown, while under the care of Iowa River Hospice.
Following cremation, a Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. There will be no visitation. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Gary Lee Wagner was born in Jefferson, Iowa, on March 5, 1936. He was the son of Glen and Evah (Booth) Wagner. He was raised on a farm west of Bagley, Iowa, and graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1955. Gary then attended a trade school in Milford, Nebraska, where he became a watch maker. On June 26, 1960, he was united in marriage to Rosalie (Heckendorf) in Orient, Iowa, at Otis Chapel Church. They moved to Marshalltown and made it their home. Gary worked at Hellberg's Jewelry until 1963, when he began a new job at Marshalltown Instruments where he worked until their closing in 1983. After his retirement, Gary enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, vacations, working in his workshop, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friend's.
Left to cherish Gary's memory is his wife of 53 years, Rosalie of Marshalltown; son, Jeff (Traci) Wagner of Marshalltown, Iowa; daughter, Shelly (Mike) Fuller of Melbourne, Iowa; two grandchildren: Joshua and Haley Fuller; and one step-granddaughter, Lacey Gooding of Marshalltown.
