Nathaneal Shane Ramos, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 26. Ramos was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Randall Ray Rettig, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75. The court gave him a deferred judgment of unsupervised probation for one year.

Incidents

On Sunday, Tatiana Edeni Chavarria, 204 S. Fourth St., reported the theft of a 32-inch flatscreen TV from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $190.

On Sunday, it was reported for the city of Marshalltown damage to two metal doors to the Little League building, 806 S. Sixth St., Estimated value of damage was $400.

On July 6, Blake Alexandria Ankrum, 509 W. Church St., reported the theft of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2 valued at $349.99.

On July 2, Richard James Love, 1612 W. State St., reported the theft of a homemade trailer from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $400.
