A year after sharing the Class 3A lead in home runs, East Marshall's Katie Roseland has tacked on another honor - Most Outstanding Player.

The Mustangs' senior catcher received the top honor of the North Iowa Cedar League's West Division, as voted on by the conference's coaches.

Roseland, who was a first-team selection last summer and a second-team pick two years ago, hit four of her 3A-leading 11 home runs this season in conference play while batting .474. The 3A No. 4-ranked Mustangs finished second to 2A No. 8 AGWSR, yet was tops with six first-team all-NICL West selections.

Roseland was joined by fellow senior Paige Miller, who earned her first all-conference first-team honor after batting .567 in nine league games. She was a second-team pick a year ago and an honorable mention in 2011.

East Marshall junior Haley Long earned her third straight first-team selection, this time at second base. Mustang sophomores Mariah Fritz, Taylor Fricke and Ashley Allen gained first-team honors as well, making it two years in a row for Fricke.

AGWSR, which went 13-1 to win the NICL West for the first time since 2006, was led by the all-conference team's only unanimous selection, sophomore pitcher Ashley Sicard. Sicard got the decision in all 14 conference games, allowing just 12 runs (nine earned) in 90 innings pitched. She struck out 99 and walked 14, logging a 0.70 earned run average.
