AMES - South Tama County senior-to-be Paige Van Dyk shot a two-day total of 15-over-par 157 to finish in a tie for fourth place at the 38th PGA Junior Iowa Championship Monday and Tuesday at Ames Golf & Country Club.
Van Dyk carded three birdies in her opening-day round of 77, after which she was tied for third. She finished with an 80 on Tuesday to share fourth place with Rachele Miller of Bettendorf.
Four-time Iowa girls' state golf champion Jessie Sindlinger of Charles City captured the title in the 16-18 girls division with her 72-75-147. She and George Quian of Bettendorf will represent Iowa at the National 38th PGA Junior Championship in Washington D.C. later this month.
Van Dyk was the Class 3A state champion this past spring for South Tama, and she also placed fourth two seasons ago.
