“Bassmeister” and friends at the Le Grand Library

July 15, 2013

At 1 p.m. July 18 , the Le Grand Pioneer Heritage Library, 204 N. Vine St., Le Grand, will present "Fishing for Laughs" with the "Bassmeister." The "Bassmeister" is a fun and entertaining guy from Milwaukee, Wis., who brings the excitement of fishing into the lives of children. His "Fishing for Laughs" comedy show is full of clean humor, audience participation, ventriloquism, visual props, illusions and puppets. Shows are designed to be fast paced, high energy and very entertaining for the kids. You will almost never see a child get bored with this quick moving presentation of comedy and variety. Children will get involved directly on stage with The "Bassmeister," as important topics get covered, such as water safety and using fishing lures, but these topics are not overly "preachy" and do not take over the entire show. Kids will meet whimsical and crazy puppets, get to be a part of the show, and have a fun time from start to finish. Kids will learn fishing basics, learn about different types of lures and get directly involved with demonstrations on stage. "Fishing for Laughs," will have the audience laughing, and the children begging to be the next volunteer to assist. Children who attend will also be entered in a prize drawing for a fishing rod.

Curt Strutz, the "Bassmeister," is a nationally touring comedian who does a fishing-themed comedy act that has taken both the U.S. and Canada by storm. The show is a hilarious look at fishing and is great for children and families. Strutz has an extensive history in tournament bass fishing and fishing entertainment. He has been speaking professionally for many years and can add a fun new dimension to any event. He has competed professionally in the Bassmasters Tournament Trail and the Canadian Open, as well as having competed in the FLW Tour "Everstart Series" and many local events in southeastern Wisconsin. He has also competed in the Gander Mountain Invitational Bass Tour, with several top 10 finishes and a qualifier into the Tournament of Champions.

The Bassmeister has appeared coast to coast in both the U.S. and Canada, including major events such as the Illinois State Fair, Wisconsin State Fair, New York City National Boat Show, Houston Boat Show, Vancouver International Boat Show, Toronto RV Show, Central Wisconsin State Fair, Washington County Fair, Kindercare Learning Centers, Great Wolf Lodge Resorts, Jellystone Park Camp Resorts, Louisville Boat Show, Chicago Sportsmen's Show, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's and many more.
