In the wake of what had been such a successful 40th anniversary Tractor Ride in 2012, there was only one thing Marshall Town Center could do. Do it again, bigger and better!
Marshall Town Center announces Aug. 24 as the date for its second annual Tractor Ride in Marshalltown. Owners of antique tractors are welcome to participate in the event, with no fee to enter the parade.
Registration, however, is required the day of the event. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 24. The parade will start at 10 a.m., with a new, longer route as compared to 2012. This year's route will take the tractors past area nursing home facilities as well as out to the Iowa Veteran's Home.
The parade is expected to return to Marshall Town Center around noon, with the tractors remaining on display until 2 p.m.
In addition to the tractors being on display, you'll be able to treat yourself to pork sandwiches, prepared by the Pork Producers. All proceeds from the sale of the pork sandwiches will go to the Marshalltown Area United Way.
For more information on the Antique Tractor Ride and how to become a part of the parade, contact Susan Schuett-Krough at 641-752-6200 or email@example.com.
The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
