The annual Franks From Us celebration will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 on State Center's West Main Street during the weekly farmers market. As part of State Center's annual customer appreciation event, a complimentary meal will be served in front of Partner Communications, B E Creative and Salon A on the south side of West Main Street until the "dogs" are gone. The event is being hosted by the State Center Development Association and State Center area businesses. Community volunteers will be grilling and serving hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips, iced tea and lemonade. To top off the meal, the State Center Historical Society will be selling homemade pies and ice cream at the historic Watson's Grocery Store. Anyone wishing to donate homemade pies can drop them off at Watson's Grocery Store before 5 p.m. that evening; they would be greatly appreciated!
There will be a Bounce House to entertain the kids, along with free hayrides around State Center; pick-ups and drop-offs will be in front off Watson's Grocery Store. The State Center Farmers Market will be in full swing that evening with many new vendors making their first appearance this season. Homegrown fruit, vegetables and other produce will be available, along with homemade baked goods and crafts, such as soaps, barbed wire, stained glass, jewelry and bags.
If you would like to become a vendor, please contact Betsy Edler at 641-483-2709 or the State Center Development Association at 641-483-3002.
