A Marshalltown man faces three counts of assaulting a police officer after kicking a door off its hinges at officials investigating an alleged domestic dispute.
Police were dispatched to the home of Chester Brown, 32, on North 15th Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Thursday morning for the report of the dispute.
Brown allegedly kicked a door, damaging it and sending several pieces flying toward officers, said Capt. Mike Hanken, of the Marshalltown Police Department.
Upon further investigation, it was determined Brown was intoxicated, but there was no proof that a domestic assault took place, Hanken said.
Assaulting a police officer is a serious misdemeanor.
