Conservative agenda doesn’t consider women, poor

July 19, 2013
Robert Franklin, Marshalltown , Times-Republican

Governor Branstad first loaded the board of medicine with his hand-picked members and now they have decided to do away with dispensing of abortion medication via telemedicine. Once again the Republicans on the board say they are concerned about the health of the women who are receiving this medication.

This method of dispensing medication has been around for many years and there has not been any problems with this type of delivery. Again, the women who will be most affected are those poor women who live in rural areas. I think it is high time Republicans simply admit they have a very conservative agenda and are not concerned about the care or lives of women and poor in the state.
