For being such a small town, Melbourne wants to show it can still put on a big festival. The town's annual festival, Mousehole Days, will run Friday to Sunday in the southwestern Marshall County town.
Festival organizer Sara McNamee said a group of 20 volunteers put on the festival each year and it builds community pride.
"We try to do things that can pull the town together," McNamee said. "It's a big family event."
Children ride in a barrel train during a past Melbourne Mousehole Days festival. The festival returns this weekend to the western Marshall County town.
The popular fish fry kicks off the festival at 5 p.m. Friday at the fire station. The local band Loose Neutral will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. that night.
"They are a big hit," McNamee said.
The car show has been moved from the park back to downtown this year and will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Children look forward to the inflatables and other games in the park from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Saturday night's band, Minor Night, is returning after it was well-received at Mousehole Days last year.
"People requested they come back," McNamee said.
Adding to the draw Saturday night will be the fireworks show, which will shoot off after the championship softball game in the park.
