Burglar hits downtown bar

Police are searching for at least one burglar after the Rusty Nail at 209 E Main St. was robbed over the weekend.

According to a police report, someone smashed a window after hours on Sunday and once inside broken open two cash registers and took $749 contained therein. Damage to the property is estimated at $550.

There are no suspects and it is unclear how many people may have been involved.

Incidents

On Monday, a person reported damage to the passenger side window on a vehicle while parked at 310 Edgewood St., and the writing of profanity with a marker on the back of the driver side seat. Estimated value of damage was $350.

On Monday, Jodell M. Larson, 301 S. Fourth Ave. Apt. #6, reported the theft of cash in the amount of $655 from her residence.

On Monday, Chalee Rahn, 1003 W. Boone St., reported the theft of $100 from her purse while at 504 W. Iowa Ave.

On Friday, Eric Hernandez, 303 Sharon Ave., reported hit and run damage to the front, passenger side of a Chevy Lumina and damage to the front driver side corner of the bumper on a Ford F250 pickup while parked in a lot at 18 E. Berle Road. Estimated value of damage to the Chevy Lumina was $1,500 while the Ford F250 had an estimated $200 in damage.

On July 27, Miguel Almanza, 5 N. Fifth Ave., reported the theft of a gold rosary, two necklaces, two gold bracelets, cash, two Nextbook Androids and a gold ring from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $3,720.

Arrests

On Monday, Haig Ngotel, 2705 Lincoln Way, was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

On Monday, Valerian Basilius, 413 N. Third St., was arrested for public intoxication and criminal mischief-third degree.
