Gerald Timm, 58

Gerald Timm, 58, of Tama, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., also at the church. Memorials may be directed towards the family. Gerald Allen Timm was born on September 23, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Glen and Esther Schmutte Timm. He graduated from South Tama High School in 1973. On June 16, 1979, Gerald was united in marriage to Kathy Buresh. Gerald's jobs were many; after school, he was a truck driver for Pioneer for 34 years, he also farmed and worked for Doc Davis for 18 years, he was employed by Cenex LP in Marshalltown for a length of time before becoming a full time truck driver for Rosen's Diversity in Fremont, Minnesota and he and Kathy also farmed on their home for 24 years. Gerald was the President of the Cemetery Association of Maple Grove Cemetery, a member of the OCIA organic farming and a member of the Farm Bureau Organization. Gerald loved the time spent on his farm as well as driving his semi-trucks. He also loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Above all else, Gerald enjoyed sitting on his swing with his Golden Retriever and best friend of 5 years, Samson (Sammy).

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Kathy; son: Rodney Timm of Toledo; grandchildren: Jessica Timm and Jacob Timm; daughters: Lindsey (Jake) Weitzell of LeGrand, Stacy (Dusty) Hauser of Grinnell, Tiffany (Tim) Feisel of Traer; grandchildren: Clayton Blocker, Carlee Feisel, Conway Feisel and Chloe Feisel; mother: Esther Timm of Toledo; brother: Darold (Ellen) Timm of Mingo, and sister Sandra Chandonia of Toledo. Gerald is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gerald is preceded in death by his father Glen and his grandparents.
