The Marshalltown High School intrasquad football scrimmage is going to have the look of a real game.
The concession stands will be open, the cheerleaders will be in uniform and the band will be performing when the Bobcats take to the field for the first time at Leonard Cole Field on Friday.
The night will begin with the Roundhouse Fall Sports Kickoff, featuring new activities director Craig Huegel at 5:30 p.m.
The freshmen squad will scrimmage for 10 minutes at 6 p.m. followed by a third-, fourth- and fifth-grade scrimmage at 6:30 p.m.
Marshalltown's high school band will take the field at 6:45 p.m. and play until the varsity football team begins its pre-game warmup drills at 7 p.m. The varsity scrimmage kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will include two 15-minute halves with a continual clock.
The MHS cheerleaders also will be face painting and helping with the food donations, and the MHS Booster Club will be grilling while concession stands are open.
The cost for the event is a good-will offering of a canned food item.
