Thanks to two sisters, a statue of Jesus Christ that stood tall over the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Haverhill got a new paint job last week after going several years without it. Edith Kopel and her sister Jeanette Kloppenborg, pictured here with the statue, hired the Surati brothers from Marshalltown to restore the statue after seeing them restore the pink flamingo at the Flamingo Motel in Marshalltown last week. Kopel paid for the restoration out of pocket because she “felt like giving back to her community.”
