Woman allegedly bites boyfriend

A Marshalltown woman was arrested Thursday after she allegedly bit her live-in boyfriend.

Faith Elaine Burns, 37, was arrested for serious domestic assault, a serious misdemeanor, after an argument with her boyfriend Wednesday night.

Burns admitted she'd bitten the man on his left arm, telling police that she was "fed up with him."

Skip and Laura Boston, of Walkersville, Md., are the parents of a son, Liam Edward Boston, born on Aug. 23 weighing 5 pounds and measuring 18 inches in length. Welcoming Liam home are big brother Logan and big sister Elliana. Grandparents are Jon and Sue Boston, of Marshalltown, and Richard and Joanne Peterson, of Mount Airy, Md. Great grandparents are Fernette Smith, of Marshalltown, and Betty Pulver, of Sanford, N.C.

Greg and Alyssa Broussard, of Ames, are the parents of a son, Hunter Isaac Broussard, born on Aug. 26 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length. Grandparents are Norris and Sara Broussard, of Marshalltown, and Tim and Mindy McMahon, of Marshalltown.

William Wolgamott, of West Des Moines, made an initial appearance on two counts of a forgery charge. He will hire Jeffrey Hazen as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Wolgamott was released on his own recognizance.

Joshua Jamell, 1015 S. Sixth St., made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Cristina Sandoval, 802 W. Main St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Sandoval was released on her own recognizance.

Robin Fisher, address unknown, made an initial appearance on six counts of attempting to get prescription drugs under false pretenses. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 9. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Austin James Vermace, of Amana, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the public intoxication charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The fine on the theft-fifth degree charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 plus restitution if applicable. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Sept. 26 until the debts are paid in full.

Norlyn Edlina Colon, of Muscatine, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge and a failure to appear on a driving while barred charge proceeding. The public defender's office was appointed to handle both cases. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 23. The trial for the driving while barred charge is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 12 with the pre-trial conference rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety on the probation violation and $2,000 cash only on the failure to appear charge.

Emeku White, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a interference with official acts charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. White was released on her own recognizance.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Brett Rosedale, age 25, of Albion, was arrested on S-75 south of 300th Street for operating while intoxicated-first offense. He was released on promise to appear.

On Monday, Andrew Graveman, age 20, of Wellsburg, was arrested on D Avenue and D-25 on a Grundy County Sheriff's Office for probation violation. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On Sunday, Michael Parker, age 27, of Davenport, was arrested by Scott County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He posted bond and was released.

On Sunday, Aaron Claassen, age 24, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with domestic abuse assault. He posted bond and was released.

On Sunday, Keri Lais, age 25, of Cresco, was arrested on Highway 20 for operating while intoxicated-first offense. Bond was posted and Lais was released.

On Aug. 24, Adam Probasco, age 23, of Conrad, was arrested in Grundy Center for operating while intoxicated-first offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 24, Dylan Sherman, age 23, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Reinbeck and charged with public intoxication-first offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 22, Mitchell Deters, age 55, of Wellsburg, was arrested at the Sheriff's Office on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Bond was posted and Deters was released.

On Aug. 20, Anthony Fritz, age 26, of Holland, was arrested at The Mill north of Highway 20 on Highway 14 on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released on promise to appear.

On Aug. 19, Shane Merry, age 32, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg on a Marshall County warrant charging him with two counts of failure to appear. He was released on promise to appear.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a garbage truck driven by Donald Ferch, age 59, of Beaman, was westbound on 330th Street at Beckman Street in Beaman when the rear axle broke away from under the truck as it went onto the blacktop road from the gravel shoulder causing the driver to lose control and the truck to roll over onto the passenger side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ferch garbage truck was estimated at $8,000.

On Aug. 21, a vehicle driven by Breyer Angstman, age 21, of Dumont, was northbound on A Avenue and a vehicle driven by Steven Deberg, age 50, of Ackley, was westbound on 130th Street when they met and collided in the intersection of the two roads. No injuries were reported. Angstman was cited for failure to yield right of way. Damage to the Angstman vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the Deberg vehicle received an estimated $7,000.

On Wednesday, Tabitha Nichole Thompson, 1702 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #13, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
