Justin and Emily Kenny, of Urbandale, are the parents of a son, Landon Charles Kenny, born at 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines weighing 9 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 21.5 inches in length. Grandparents are Jon and Roseann Nymeyer, of Marshalltown, Kevin and Mary Kenny, of Fort Dodge, JoAnn and the late Larry Prescott, of Fort Dodge, and the late Fran and Don Kenny, of Fort Dodge. Great grandparents are Barbara L. and the late Leonard Ohrt, of Marshalltown, and the late Charles and Frances Nymeyer, of Marshalltown.

Darrell Demetris Glass, 303 1/2 S. Fourth Ave. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Oct. 3 until the debt is paid in full or in lieu of the fine and surcharge Glass may do 12 hours of community service plus pay the court costs of $60 to be completed by Jan. 15, 2014.

Dustin Inman, 118 N. Center St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. The court appointed Merrill Swartz to act as counsel. A parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by his parole officer as his calendar permits. No bond was allowed in this case.

Timothy Nelson, 1712 E. Nevada St. Apt. A, made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Ralph Stevenson, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #49, made an initial appearance on a possession of firearms by prohibited person charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25.

She pleaded guilty to all charges and was fined $65 on each charge with a $22.75 surcharge for each and $60 court costs for a total of $147.75 assessed on each charge. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Oct. 4 until the debts are paid in full.

Melissa Kay Frederick, 606 W. Boone St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a failure to have a valid driver's license charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25. Frederick was released on her own recognizance.

Daryl Wayne Ferguson, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of Schedule II controlled substance-unknown pills charge, a public intoxication charge, an interference with official acts charge and a disorderly conduct charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25. The court ordered that Ferguson be photographed and fingerprinted before leaving the Sheriff's office today. It was further ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date. Ferguson was released on his own recognizance.

Jessie Otta, of Laurel, made an initial appearance on a animal neglect causing death charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 25. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Maschelle J. Duff, 703 S. 12th Ave. Apt. #6, made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 24 in Magistrate Court.
