A woman reached speeds exceeding 115 mph during a police pursuit in Marshall County Thursday.

Local officers became involved when Ames Police reported a distraught woman headed toward Marshall County about 2:30 p.m., Marshall County Chief Deputy Burt Tecklenburg said.

The pursuit took place southeast of State Center on Hart Avenue and onto Highway 330, he said.

Four law enforcement vehicles pursued the car. Officers did deploy stop sticks, but the woman drove around them.

The chase ended when the woman pulled over and stopped near the Highway 330 and Highway 65 intersection.

Tecklenburg said there were no damages and no injuries.

The driver was taken to the emergency room for evaluation; charges are pending in Marshall County and Ames, he said.
