A man walked into a convenience store with a semi-automatic pistol Wednesday night and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Employees at Casey's General Store, 1009 Lincoln Way, were preparing to close the store for the evening when the man entered about 10:30 p.m.

Brandishing the weapon, he took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, said Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department.

The man fled on foot before an employee could call 911.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches and weighing about 150 pounds. He was dressed in black.

The investigation remains under investigation. The police department requests that anyone who may have information about the robbery call the MPD at 641-754-5725.

First-degree robbery, a Class B felony, is punishable up to 25 years imprisonment.
