Marshalltown High School junior Mu Paw is learning English and Spanish at the same time, and is taking on that huge goal with a great attitude.

"She goes above and beyond what I expect," said Sarah Whitehead, her Spanish teacher at MHS. "She always gets everything done with quality and on time."

One of the best qualities the student from Thailand exemplifies in class is the willingness to reach out and ask for help if she doesn't comprehend something.

"She advocates for herself and asks questions," Whitehead said.

The 17-year-old is fine with taking on challenges, because she feels it will pay off in the end.

"I want to learn more for the future," Mu Paw said.

She said she has a dream to one day become an airplane pilot.
