LE GRAND - East Marshall's challenge fell off as the night wore on, as the Grinnell volleyball team turned away the host Mustangs with a 3-0 sweep, 25-18, 25-16, 25-13.
Anneliese Wiltfang led the Tigers (8-5) with 10 kills, while setter Regan Sharp had five kills go with with 12 assists. Grinnell served 70-for-75 on the night with nine aces, including three for Wiltfang.
East Marshall (2-9) was led by Claire Johnson across the board. The senior middle hitter had nine kills, three blocks and 11 digs to pace the Mustangs. Ashley Allen totaled three kills, two blocks, seven assists, and served 10-for-11 with four aces.
Haley Long was 7-for-7 serving with an ace, and Kelsea Anderson also went 7-for-7. Libero player Madisen Hinegardner tallied 10 digs, while Long contributed five digs and six assists.
The Mustangs are back at home tonight, entertaining BCLUW in NICL West Division action.
