Man arrested at gunpoint
A local man was arrested at gunpoint, after police ordered him to step out of his vehicle.
Eder Alejandro Cruz, 27, was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Sunday, on the 400 block of E. Linn St., for causing a disturbance and carrying a handgun.
Allegedly, Cruz was making death threats and threats to assault residents of a home nearby after an argument.
Once police arrived, after a call from the victims, they were informed Cruz was carrying a handgun. Cruz drove away once he saw police and made it a short distance before officers stopped him at gunpoint, ordering him to step out of his car. Cruz was taken into custody and charged with carrying a weapon, a Class D felony and first-degree harassment. He is being held in jail on a $7,000, cash-only bond.
Woman turns herself in for assault
A local woman was arrested after she turned herself in to police for assaulting another woman with a beer bottle.
Darci Lynn Wolf, 25, was arrested 7 p.m. Tuesday, after she admitted assaulting another woman Sunday night at Center Street Station, 19 N. Center St.
Apparently an argument led to Wolf allegedly hitting the other woman over the head with a beer bottle, causing her to have five stitches above the eye.
The victim went to the Marshalltown Police Department at 3:20 p.m. the next day saying she was assaulted the previous night.
Wolf is charged with aggravated assault.

On Sunday, Leasa Gatzlaff, 805 Jerome St., reported the theft of an Apple iPhone 5 while at Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., valued at $699.99.
On Sunday, Lonnell Madison Murphy, 920 Finkle Ave., reported hit and run damage to the passenger side on a 2010 Ford Focus. Estimated value of damage was $1,000.
On Monday, Kisha C. Amundson, 1001 Iowa Ave. West Apt. #11, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Sunday, Melissa Ariel Crusen, 506 Jerome St., was arrested for child endangerment.
On Sunday, James Kenneth Woods, 506 Jerome St., was arrested for child endangerment.
On Sunday, Edward David Stokes, 619 Jerome St., was arrested for theft-fifth degree.
On Sept. 18, Jeff Allen Clark, 508 W. Linn St., was arrested for driving while barred and theft-fifth degree from Kwik Star.
On Tuesday, Osvaldo Huerta, 522 N. Third St., was arrested for violation of a no-contact order and possessing a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana.
On Sunday, Darci Lynn Wolf, 1301 Glenwood Terrace, was arrested for aggravated assault causing bodily injury.
On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Sandra George, 1015 S. Fifth Ave., was southbound on Bobcat Boulevard when George suffered a seizure which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a parked car in one of the parking lots at Marshalltown High School. George was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Damage to the George vehicle was estimated at $300 while the parked car received an estimated $4,000 in damage.
On Monday, a car driven by a 17-year-old male from Haverhill was eastbound on Iowa Avenue East at the intersection with 12th Street when it attempted to turn left onto 12 Street in front of a minivan driven by Ilene Maree Sevilla, of Garwin, which was traveling west on Iowa Avenue and a collision occurred. Sevilla was possibly injured, but not transported. Borton was cited for failure to yield upon left turn and Sevilla was cited for no insurance-accident related and driving under suspension. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $6,000 each.

Mandell Clark, c/o Marshall County Jail, made an initial appearance on two counts of an assault on correctional staff charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 7. Bond is set at $7,500 cash only. Should Clark make bond, he is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office and sign a pre-trial release agreement.
Megan Kutzner, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging her with probation violation. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. A scheduling hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 in District Court to schedule the probation revocation hearing. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. If Kutzner obtains bond, she is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to appear at the adult probation office to sign a pre-trial release agreement.
Ricky Lee Smith, of Mississippi, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a contempt hearing. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. A scheduling hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 27 for the purpose of rescheduling the contempt hearing. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. Should Smith make bond, he is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office to sign a pre-trial release agreement.
Osvaldo Huerta, 533 N. Third St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance charge. The scheduling hearing for the purpose of setting a time and date for the contempt hearing is set at 1 p.m. on Sept. 27. Huerta was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.
Marshall County Sheriff's Office
On Thursday, Sept. 12, a vehicle driven by Tommy Alison Jones, of Elizabeth City, N.C., was northbound on Ingram Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and in an attempt to avoid the deer it entered the west ditch and came to rest on the driver's side. Jones and passenger Hassan Mohamed Hassan Eisa, of Moline, Ill., were transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Jones was cited for no driver's license. Damage to the Jones vehicle was estimated at $5,500.
