When Lenihan Intermediate School teacher Leah Mattox asked her sixth graders about their fellow student, Leydi Chavarria, several positive attributes were given to describe her.

Students said Chavarria is honest, funny, always smiling and caring.

"She's kind to others, likes challenges, is bright and eager," Mattox said. "She is also involved in a lot of extracurricular activities."

Leydi Chavarria finds a cozy spot to go through a school book recently. She is a sixth grader at Lenihan Intermediate School.

Chavarria said she believes it can be enjoyable to learn.

"School can be fun too," Chavarria said. "I like to learn new stuff."

The 11-year-old hopes to one day become a veterinarian.

"I like helping animals," she said.
