Fritz Fulster, 81, of Gladbrook, IA passed away, Monday, September 30, 2013 at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at Peace United Church of Christ, in Gladbrook. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the Gladbrook Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes, in Gladbrook. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, in Gladbrook. Fritz was born February 8, 1932 on the family farm in rural Gladbrook to Johannes and Lone (Martens) Fulster. He was a 1950 graduate of Gladbrook High School. Following school he joined the United States Army where he served as an instructor of Interior Guard Duty at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He was united in marriage to Juanita Middelkoop on April 27, 1957 in Melbourne, IA. Fritz farmed in rural Gladbrook until 1984. He later owned and operated Fulster Carpentry and Plumbing. He was a member of the Gladbrook American Legion, Peace United Church of Christ, the Iowa Quarter Horse Association and a former member of the Gladbrook Lions Club, the Gladbrook Commercial Club and Gladbrook Jaycees.
Fritz will be missed by his wife, Juanita of Gladbrook; two daughters, Dawn (Joe) Jindrich of Cedar Rapids, IA, Stacy (Larry) Melton of Lincoln, IA; three grandchildren; Justin (Charity) Jindrich of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ashley Jindrich of Iowa City, IA, Haley Jindrich of Iowa City, IA, a great-grandson, Noah Jindrich and several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his loving dog, Zena. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Heinz Fulster and a sister, Hantea Scheppler.
