Football times changed by forecast

October 4, 2013
By TIMES-REPUBLICAN STAFF (sports@timesrepublican.com) , Times-Republican

The anticipation of severe weather has prompted area officials to change the start times for tonight's varsity high school football games.

The Marshalltown football squad will kick off its Class 4A Division 3 game at Des Moines Hoover at 6 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 7:30 p.m. start time.

East Marshall has also moved up the start time of its home game against Gilbert. The Mustangs and Tigers will kick off at 5:30 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. The game will still serve as Parents Night for the cross country teams and cheerleaders, and those individuals will be recognized at halftime of the football game.

West Marshall will no longer be playing a freshman game, but the varsity football game will remain on schedule with a 7:30 p.m. start time. It's Homecoming night in State Center.

No other changes have been announced.
